Barbara S. Peters

September 29, 1933 ~ January 21, 2018 (age 84) 84 Years Old

(Nee Cronce) Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 21, 2018, at the age of 84.  Beloved wife of the late Lloyd W. (Pete) Peters.  Loving mother of Mark (Catherine Carey) Peters, Dan (Laure) Peters, Victoria (Craig) Woodruff, Robert (the late Shirley) Peters, and James (Melanie) Peters.  Proud grandmother of Sarah, Ryan, Jennifer, Wendy, Tyler, Jesse, Amanda and Kelly, and great-grandmother of Creston, Kailynn, Lily, Matthew, Carter, and Bradley.  Dear sister to the late Charles (Charlotte) Cronce, John (the late Margaret) Cronce, Carol (James) Aehl and Mary Lynn (Robert) Connolly. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Barbara graduated from Messmer High School and worked at Western Electric, where she met her future husband. Barb's Catholic faith was always very important to her, and she was an active member, school parent, and CCD volunteer at Mother of Perpetual Help Parish.   She and Pete moved from Milwaukee to Eau Claire in 1978, where they enjoyed retirement (both avid bowlers and golfers) and Barb was active at the Newman Catholic Center.   After Pete's death, she moved to Madison in 2000 to be near her sister and brother-in-law, who helped her fulfill her dream of travel to places like Rome and Hawaii.  During her years in Madison she worked in a school lunchroom and became a suicide helpline volunteer.  She was also active on St. Peter's Parish Respite Team and loved to play euchre and sheepshead with friends there.  In 2008, she moved to St. Camillus in Milwaukee, where she became well-loved by both residents and staff.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, from 1 PM until the time of Memorial Mass at 3 PM at San Camillo Chapel, Wauwatosa (10200 W. Bluemound Rd.).

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Barbara's name to the St. Camillus Employee Appreciation Fund.

The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Camillus for their care over the years, her sister Lynn for her huge assistance the last ten years, and to the staff of Froedtert ER Dept. and MICU, who cared for her in her final illness.
