Of Bonita Springs, Florida. Formerly of Brookfield and Sussex Wisconsin. Was born to eternal life on June 6, 2017 (D-Day), at the age of 89. He is the beloved husband of the late Gwen for 60 years. Loving father of Kim (Mary) Ireland, Shane (Jean) Ireland, and Robin (Robert) Forster. Fun loving gramps of Megan (Joe) Fenlon, the late Andrew Ireland, Peter Ireland, Jessica (Rick) Pulmilia, Adam (Anna) Ireland, Addie Forster and Anna Forster. Great-Grandfather of Madeline and Isabella Fenlon and Sam Welch. Glen was born to Glen V. Ireland Sr. and Hattie Ireland August 31, 1927 in Miles City Montana. He was preceded in death by brothers Arthur (Barbara) and William (June) Ireland and sister Harriett (Fred) Polzin. He is lovingly survived by many other relatives and friends.
Glen proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII. Upon returning home from the navy, Glen worked alongside his father at Solvox Mfg. Company. He became President upon his father’s retirement. Glen worked at Solvox for 54 years and retired April 2000. Glen married Gwen in 1950 and they made Brookfield their home until 1979 when they moved to his farm in Sussex.
Glen and Gwen were snowbirds to Florida from 1993 and Glen relocated there permanently in 2014. Glen was a golf member of North Hills Country Club for over 30 years and a social member at the Bonita Bay Club for 6 years. For 65 years he was a member of Humphrey Scottish Rites Masonic Center.
A celebration of Glen’s life will be held Friday June 16, 2017 at the funeral home from 3-5 pm with a military service at 5 pm. Memorials suggested to the Stars and Stripes Honor Fight.
