passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, May 25, 2017. Beloved wife and Social Activities Coordinator of the late D. Raymond (Ray) Kenney. Mother and Social Graces Manager of Laura (Bob) Hodgins, Pam (Mike) Sheehan and Kate Kenney. Adored Fashion Indulgent and incredibly proud Grandmother of Caelin Sheehan, Clayton Sheehan, Liam Schroeder and Greta Schroeder. Also survived by truly loved and cherished companion Frances (Fran) Pauls.

She met Ray Kenney while attending Marquette University on St Patrick’s Day. (In a bar actually, a fact she chose to withhold until her children were older and perhaps a bit wiser) Growing up in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin she never dreamed of meeting and later marrying a man from Brooklyn, NY with a wonderful sense of humor and an accent that matched the city in which he was born. They shared 36 years of love and marriage, along with raising 3 daughters together, before the unexpected loss of her husband, Ray, in 1988.

Following in the footsteps of her mother, she worked incredibly hard at being an independent woman with a social calendar that she sought to keep full. Along with this new life, she became filled with a renewed sense of adventure and travel. She was a long-standing member of the Vagabond Travel Club. It’s here that she met her cherished friend and companion Fran. Half Irish himself, Fran had an affinity for all things Irish and sailing. Our Irish mom mentioned she had sailed in her much younger years and their friendship began but not before he took her out on his sailboat a few times, which included testing her sailing capabilities, before she passed the test. Together, they sailed and traveled to places near and far, always on the lookout for the next adventure. Including a just booked trip to Cuba in which she may have been the more excited of the two to go.

She will be sadly missed by all of us. But we find comfort in knowing she lived life to the fullest and was proudly independent until the end.
