Homer Lee Sisson

Of New Berlin died Wednesday December 13th, 2017 at age 81. He was born in Galveston, Texas on October 3rd, 1936 the son of Homer Lee and Emma Louise (nee Hodge) Sisson. On March 30th, 1963 he married Kathlene Nichols in Corpus Christi, Texas. They both graduated from W.B. Ray High School and had the same birthday Oct. 3rd. They were married for almost 55 years.

Lee attended Texas A & M and graduated from the University of Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee with a Bachelor of Business Degree in 1966. Lee was on the Board of Trustees – Graduate School of Sales Management and Marketing Syracuse University.

He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. Lee served as a radio communications operator assigned to USA Occupation Forces in Kaiserslautern Germany then transferred to 34th brigade Headquarters in Mannheim.  

In 1966 Lee began his 25 year career with Durant Digital that became Cutler Hammer and eventually Eaton Corporation. He was sent to Rochester, New York in 1967. After returning to Milwaukee in 1969 he became Vice President of Sales and Marketing .Although Lee’s job required him to travel constantly, the Sisson family made Milwaukee their permanent home.

Lee was the National President of Pi Sigma Epsilon – National Professional Fraternity in Sales and Marketing; President of Sales and Marketing Executives of Milwaukee; and President of Sales and Marketing Executives International. He was the first to hold both the Certified Sales Executive and Certified Marking Executive Certification from Sales and Marketing International Accreditation Institute.

In retirement he created and conducted sales seminars in the USA, United Kingdom and Canada. He served as President of Golden K Kiwanis Club of Elm Grove, enjoyed the golf league, and ringing the bell for the Salvation Army at Christmas.

Lee was a founding member of New Berlin Veterans Memorial Society and was instrumental in the development of the site. He served the City of New Berlin as chairman of the Ethics Board. He served on New Berlin’s Planning Commission 2003-210, chairman of the Architectural Review Board and Code Committee.  He was a life member of New Berlin Historical Society.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Kathlene, and their children Mollie Louise Sisson and Thomas Lee Sisson. He is survived by his cousins Tom Sisson and Wanda Sisson Zwahr, Etta Hodge Mayfield (Alec), Second Cousins Karen Loebel (Mark Lacy), Vicky Loebel (Richard Clark), and Dusky Loebel, nieces Heidi Louise Brown and Christine Elizabeth Brown Dobbs (Frank), Nephew Thomas Oscar Brown (Sheila)

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sandra.

Visitation is Saturday December 30th, 2017 from 10am to 12pm with memorial service at 12pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Golden K Kiwanis Club of Elm Grove, P.O.
