Welcome to the memorial page for

Paul A. Frederick, Jr.

November 30, 1925 ~ June 20, 2017 (age 91) 91 Years Old
Born to Eternal Life Tuesday June 20, 2017. Age 91. Beloved husband of 67 years to his sweetheart Gloria. He was the proud father of Ginger Frederick and Lon (Kerry) Frederick. He was also very proud of his grandchildren Renee, Matt and Danny Frederick.

Paul experienced a tremendous life’s journey. He attended Missouri University where he first met Gloria and received his degree in Business Administration. He became a very successful investment banker, founding Frederick & Company, a Wisconsin broker dealer in 1960. The oldest independent brokerage firm in Milwaukee.

Paul possessed a driving entrepreneurial vision and was honored with the distinguished Ernst & Young Entrepreneurial Spirit Award. He served as President of the Milwaukee Bond Club and as a member of the Midwest NASD District Committee representing the interests of brokers in the region. He was also President of the Brookfield Jaycees.

Paul had many diverse interests which included fishing, tennis, gardening, reading, jigsaw puzzles and singing. In college he was the tenor of a barbershop quartet. He was also an avid Packers fan with season tickets at County Stadium.

Paul also had a great interest in collecting. He started with bottle caps, match boxes and marbles as a boy and expanded to stamps and coins, antique furniture, 10,000 books, and 18th century paintings which led to the formation of Frederick Galleries.

Serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II, he always wanted to become a pilot and subsequently earned his pilot’s license years later.

While Paul had a diverse array of ambitions perhaps his most distinguishing attribute was his compassionate heart. He was a kind and generous man with a gregarious personality, always providing moral encouragement to the people around him. Even while living with Parkinson’s and dementia in the last few years he was always quick to tell both staff and residents at Silverado, “You’re doing a good job”. Paul lived a full life and brought joy to those around him. He will be missed.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday June 23, 2017 from 3-5 PM. Memorials appreciated to the Parkinson or Alzheimer Associations.
