Thomas Henry Glueckstein, 74, formally from Brookfield, passed away on December 8, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at Franciscan Woods as a result of lung cancer.
He was born in Milwaukee on April 24, 1943. He graduated St Mary's grade school, in Elm Grove, and Pius High School in Milwaukee. After high school he served in U.S. Army. The Army trained him to be a heavy equipment mechanic. After training he was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam Nam conflict as a mechanic. After his service he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic until retirement.
He was a member of Brookfield American Legion and Brookfield VFW. He was a life time member of St John Vianney Catholic Church in Brookfield and was an usher and served as head usher for a period of time. He was a member of the Brookfield chapter of the Knights of Columbus.
He loved to read, hunt and fish in his younger years. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited. After retirement he took golf lessons and became an avid golfer.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father Henry, brother William, brother Daniel
He is survived by his mother Dorothy, brothers Leo (Mary), Henry (Judy), James (Brenda) Glueckstein: sisters Sr. Mary Beth, Kathryn (John) Peri, Margaret (Herb) Kuehnemann, Janet (Paul) Boemer and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, December 17 from 2 to 4PM. Words of remembrance to begin at 9:45AM at St. John Vianney (1755 N. Calhoun Rd., Brookfield) on Monday, December 18, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM. Fr. Ken Knippel will officiate.
Memorials can be made for the cure for cancer.
