(nee Conrad) Longtime resident of Wauwatosa. Born to Eternal Life August 19, 2017, at the age of 93. Devoted wife of the late William R. Heffernan for 36 years and beloved mother to Michael Heffernan of Chicago, James (Ann Marie) Heffernan of Brookfield, and Kathleen (Michael) Hodan of Brookfield. Adoring grandmother to Bobby, John, Joe, Elizabeth and Tommy Heffernan and Margaret, Molly and Maura Hodan. Anita graduated from Holy Angels Academy, Mount Mary College, and received her master’s degree from UWM. She taught Business at West Milwaukee High School from 1946 until 1960. Anita was a member of St. Jude Parish, the Milwaukee Metropolitan Builders’ and Knights of Columbus’ auxiliaries, Sainte Jeanne d’ Arc Circle and bridge clubs with dear friends.  Anita joins her late parents, Clarence and Helen (nee Hahn) Conrad, brother Gerald Conrad and sister Margaret Conrad.

Anita dedicated her life to her family and lived according to her unwavering catholic faith. She loved life, people, and fun. She radiated endless energy and often proclaimed “You are only as old as you feel, and I don’t feel old.”

Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home Thursday, August 31st from 4:30-7 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Friday, September 1st at St. Jude the Apostle Church, Wauwatosa ( 734 Glenview Ave), followed by graveside services at Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Divine Savior Holy Angels High School, Marquette University High School, or Mount Mary University are appreciated.
