On June 20, 2017 completed her journey on earth and was met in heaven by her beloved husband Larry, youngest daughter Lisa and daughter-in-law Carol who preceded her in death. She is survived by children Julie (George Zuniga), Joe (Sharon Lavin), Debra (Michael Mayer), Paul, Mary (Kevin Kinsey), Gail (Charles Frentzel), and Fred (Marcy Neuman). Also survived by many affectionate and loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Arleen was born in Laona, Wisconsin on July 7, 1926 and maintained a lifelong fondness for the town where she grew up and met her husband. She passed that love on to her children and their families which resulted in many visits where Arleen enjoyed sitting around the campfire, talking to her north woods friends and watching her kids and grandkids enjoy the fishing, swimming, and boating on Silver Lake. Many times she was content to sit on the cottage swing with Larry, holding hands, and taking in the view. She also cherished her time in Door County where she and Larry had a vacation home for many years. Her days at home with her family were filled with rituals and traditions like neighborhood block parties, making raspberry jam, and watching her children participate in school events. She was a founding member of St. Luke Parish and was involved in parish activities.

Arleen was married to the love of her life for 63 years. As her own children grew up she generously opened her home to foster children. Her fondness for the little ones followed her throughout her life; there was always a twinkle in her eye and a smile on her face for children she met along the way. Even in her last days she welcomed a hug and kiss from her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank the kind, caring and patient staff at the Avalon Square Assisted Living facility where Arleen spent the last few months. Not only did they offer resources and support to our family that was invaluable, but more importantly they treated our mom with respect and dignity.
