Barbara Joan Havas

Born to eternal life on December 17, 2020. Beloved oldest sister of Sue (Jeff) Partin, Nancy Havas (Tony Zaffiro), Molly Havas, Tom (Michelle) Havas, and Linda Havas. Devoted aunt of Alec Csizmadia, Katie Csizmadia, Juli Havas and Bethy Havas, and “bonus aunt” of Michael Zaffiro and Alyssa Zaffiro.  Treasured friend of countless individuals who enriched the colorful bouquet of her life.  Preceded in death by her loving parents, Fred and Mary Havas. 

A lifelong resident of Wauwatosa, Barb graduated from UW-Milwaukee with a degree in marketing. Through her longtime employment with Sullivan-Schein Dental and her most recent position with the Waukesha County Community Foundation, Barb embraced every opportunity to channel her many talents into serving others.

Barb enjoyed traveling (and photographing everything that caught her eye), serving as a Wisconsin certified Master Gardener, and providing countless snuggles to her pets Kahlua, Hoover, and Kearney over the years. Most of all, she relished her time with her family and friends at Brewers games and the many celebrations she loved to host.

Just as the sunshine made the flowers grow in her garden, Barb brightened the lives of everyone around her. We will all miss her unceasing thoughtfulness and her genuine interest in the well-being of her family and friends.  Whether it was a carefully planned party or one of the countless tiny acts of kindness she performed every day, Barb was always one to look out for everyone else before herself. 

Burial will be private due to COVID-19 safety concerns. The family plans a public celebration of Barb’s remarkable life at a later date. Until we can gather in person, think fondly of her especially when her favorite spring flowers (daffodils, hyacinths and tulips) appear in Wisconsin. If desired, Barb’s family suggests that donations be made in Barb’s name to Elmbrook Humane Society, Hunger Task Force of Milwaukee, or Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens.
