Barbara M. “Barbie” Schneider

On February 4, 2019 at 7:32 pm, Heaven gained another angel.  Barbara Mary Schneider “Barbie” was born June 3, 1937, the eldest daughter of the late Walter P. and Frances O. (Zeimet) Schneider. 

She passed away on Monday after a long-fought battle with COPD, with loving family at her side.  Beloved sister of Mary (Dan) Kondracki and Lynn (Dick) Daoust.  Much loved aunt of Kathy (Jim) Cappozzo, the late Corey (Bryan) Grayson, Heather (Andy) Congemi, Sue (John) Marek and Rick Daoust.  Special great-aunt of Dom (Carley) and Angel (fiancé Michael) Cappozzo, Kyle (special friend Ashley) Marek, Kayla (fiancé Vinnie) Marek, Kelsey (Jake) McKenzie, Nicholas Marek, and Derek, Jack and Dylan Grayson.  Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Barbie started her career at Deaconess hospital in labor and delivery, went back to school, and became a legal secretary.  She enjoyed working in the garden, listening to classical music, collecting bunnies, traveling and loved reminiscing about her trip to Thailand.  After retiring, she moved to Waukesha to be closer to family, which was always important to her.  She cared for her mother Frances until her passing. 

Barbie was a long-time member of St. William Catholic Church, spending countless hours baking for the bake sales and serving as a Eucharistic minister for many years.  She also quilted over 100 lap robes which she donated to local nursing homes.

Barbie was a very special lady who was loved by many.  She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at on Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 10:00 am until the 12:00 noon Mass at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Barbie’s name may be made to St. William Catholic Church or the Salvation Army of Waukesha County (445 Madison St., Waukesha 53188) are appreciated.
