Barry Nelson James

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at the age of 87. Preceded to Heaven by his first wife Diane. Loving husband of Thelma Maddry James. Dear father of April (Jim) Messmore and Holly James. Papa of Lauren Messmore, Rachel Messmore, Anna Messmore and Roxanne Gibson. Also lovingly remembered by Thelma’s children Julie (Mohammad) Molaei, Kristin (Brian Johnson) Maddry Johnson, and Jim (Beth Outterson) Maddry.

Gathering at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 4-6PM. Additional gathering at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 1030AM-11AM. Memorial Service at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Elmbrook Rotary Club or Living Hope Presbyterian Church.

Barry was a member of the Elmbrook Rotary Club since 1984 and is a past President. He was honored to serve on the Board of Directors for Presbyterian Homes and International Institute of Wisconsin Friends Board Chair. In 1983, he was appointed Royal Danish Consul. In 2006, he was named Knight of the Dannenberg First Class. Former President of Chris Hansen Labs. Barry was a sunrise swimmer and an avid golfer. It never mattered what his score was as long as he got the round in within 2 ½ hours.
