Beverly L. (Putney) Sakmar

Of Brookfield, WI passed away peacefully on March 8, 2018 at age 87, after a brave, four-year battle with breast cancer.

Beverly was born in Blaine Township, MI on June 6, 1930, the daughter of Percy and Bessie Putney.  She graduated from Benzonia High School in 1948 and then from Michigan State University in 1953 with an Associate’s Degree in Secretarial Science.  Beverly retired from St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital in Pontiac, MI after a career in medical records.

Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ernest Sakmar, her step-son Patrick Sakmar, her parents and her youngest sister Marlyn Nielsen.  Beverly and Ernest resided in Grand Blanc, MI until his death in 2011 when she moved to Brookfield to live with her daughter, Pamela.

Beverly is lovingly survived by her daughter Pamela Stanick of Brookfield, WI, her son William (Elizabeth Chai-Chang) Stanick of Glendale, CA, her granddaughter Kristen (Timothy) Malloy, her charming great-grandson Jonathan and her greatly anticipated great-granddaughter Samantha, due in April.  She is also survived by her step-daughter Paulette (Wayne) Brock of Roseville, MI, her step-grandson Gordon (Michelle) Sevener and several step-grandchildren.

Beverly is further survived by her siblings, Marjorie Patterson, Shirley Mortenson, Lorraine LaGuire, Dorothy Smith, Loy Putney, Leslie (Mary Lee) Putney and Stanley (Judy) Putney and their families.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 13th at Becker Ritter in Brookfield, WI, from 11:00 AM until the time of the 1:00 PM Funeral Service. A second visitation will be held on Friday, March 16th at the Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd, Clinton Township, MI.  from 10 AM until the 12 PM Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
