In loving memory of Carl Harry Krueger
Passed peacefully on Monday, August 28, 2017 at the age of 90. Loving husband of the late Hilda Krueger. Caring dad of Wendy, Eric, and Andrew (Janelle) Krueger. Also lovingly survived by grandchildren Maclaren and Chloe Krueger and daughter-in-law Cindy.
Carl attended Washington High School and like many of his generation, he joined the US Armed Services upon graduation. He served as a First Class Petty Officer for the US Navy and was part of our peacetime effort in Nagasaki when WWII ended. He returned to Milwaukee and attended the University of Wisconsin Madison to pursue a BS in engineering and MS in business. After graduation, he married his high school sweetheart, Hilda Olson. Whereby they began a family, vacationed every summer with high school friends at Pride of the North and every spring in Florida. Many will recall that he loved to play cards and games, mastered the classical guitar and sang with a perfect tenor; entertaining his children with hootenannies, magic shows, toboggan outings, barbecues and home movies. Known for their annual hand painted holiday cards, Carl and Hilda were an inseparable pair. Eventually moving to Wauwatosa until his passing, Carl was an avid reader, classic movie enthusiast and ice cream devotee.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 11 AM until the time of service at 1 PM. After the 1 PM service, a committal service will follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
