Carmel Dykes Hernandez, beloved wife of the late Michael Hernandez, passed away on October 4, 2021. Auntie Carmel, Mel, Tia, was a devoted wife to her husband, Michael, a beloved sister to her 6 siblings and a treasured and adored aunt to her numerous nieces and nephews.
Carmel was a master hairstylist and practiced her trade for several decades in salons on Michigan Avenue and Hyde Park. She had amazing creative talents and expressed her love of all things beautiful by wrapping exquisite gift packages, creating imaginative, magical and elaborate Christmas villages and turning homes into winter wonderlands with her keen artistic eye and whimsical touch.
Surviving Siblings: Nancy Niemi-Groskopf, Roy T.Dykes, Rosemary Seymour(Ronald) preceded in death by Brother, Robert Dykes, Sisters, Marie Chopard, Theresa Plaza sister-in-law Ethel Dykes. Survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Becker Ritter Funeral Home, 14075 West North Avenue, Brookfield, Wisconsin, 53005 at 12 pm, Saturday, November 27th, 2021. We ask that guests that are not vaccinated or do not have a negative Covid test, please wear a mask.
