Tribute

Carol Lynn (Beckers) Schneider was born into this world on June 21st 1951 to her doting parents Lois and Charles Beckers (resting in Heaven).  Her childhood was full of laughter, singing and love.  She was surrounded by her three siblings Barbara (James), Michael and John (resting in Heaven) who taught her how to be silly, mischievous, and a great listener.  Carol learned how to be a true lady from her aunts and respectful from her uncles.  Her cousins brought out Carol’s naughty side.  Some of Carol’s favorite childhood memories were playing in the sand at Berry Lake, trying on pretty hats, stealing her grandmother’s hot fudge by the spoonfuls and pushing her cousin of the porch in a box.

As a young woman Carol loved spending time with her friends; talking about boys, gossiping and listening to The Beatles.  Carol also enjoyed starting food fights at Allen-Bradley, smashing pumpkins and egging houses.  At age 15 Carol met the love of her life, Tom.  It was at this time Carol was welcomed into the Schneider/Kosma family.  Carol learned thru them the art of cooking, the thrill of treasure hunting and the magic of floating in the waters of Okauchee Lake.  This new family gave her laughter, adventure and four more brothers and sisters.

On December 6th 1969 Carol and Tom married.  Carol was a proud, patient, and loving wife.  They enjoyed flea marketing, playing the slots, and building a home together.  Side by side they created a life full of art, beauty and happiness.  Throughout their marriage they spent 48 years snuggling in bed, 585 months kissing one goodnight and 17,817 days walking hand in hand together.

Together they welcomed four children into the world, Jeremy (Misty), Jenny (resting in Heaven), Alison (Dan) and Amanda.  Carol considered herself not a mother of four, but a mother of six.  Carol raised her children to be strong, courageous and kind.  She taught her children to believe in fairies, to look to the stars for guidance and to always feel the warmth of the sun.

Carol’s biggest treasure was her six grandchildren: Andrew, Emily, Isabella, Thomas, Parker and Carson. Carol embellished her grandchildren’s lives with stories of pirates, watching the clouds and singing to them as loud as she could.  She encouraged them to do their best, to look for happiness and to always dream as big as their imagination could take them.  Besides being a grandmother, Carol was also an unconditional grandma to Bruin and Cowboy whom she loved to pet and snuggle with.

Carol watched 24,560 sunsets, embraced the moment for 589,441 hours, experienced love for 35,366,462 minutes, and breathed life for 2,121,987,720 seconds.
