(Nee Weiss) completed her life’s journey and entered eternal life on July 14, 2019 at the age of 77. In 1968 Carole Prudisch (Weiss) married Frank Hopp and together they created a home in Wauwatosa for 48 years until Frank passed in November of 2016. She is survived by her two sons, Keith (Elizabeth) Prudisch and James (Kerry) Hopp and six grandchildren, Laryssa, Michael (fiancée Sarah Baierl) and Daniel Prudisch and Taylor, Kathryn and Jamie Hopp.
Carole was born in Milwaukee, WI on January 24th, 1942, to Minor and Marion Weiss. She attended Wauwatosa High School. She began her career as a receptionist at Shephard Associates in the 60’s and soon became the “voice” of the firm, greeting new and returning clients through multiple generations of the firm to it’s present day AG Architecture. She left the firm for a few years to follow her passion of being a Co-owner of The Grove Card Shop in Elm Grove. She took great joy in helping people find that perfect card or gift for that special occasion.
Carole enjoyed playing golf with friends and singing in the St. Joe’s choir. If you didn’t find her there, she was likely gardening in the yard or at an activity with the Wisconsin State Garden club. She held many positions in the club including State President and won numerous awards for her arrangements. She cherished those friendships.
Upon retirement she moved to College Station, Texas to live with Jim and Kerry where she continued to be active in garden club and play in a golf league as well as volunteer in the hospital gift shop where once again, she could help people find that perfect card or gift. Carole will be remembered as a devoted wife and as a loving and caring Mother, “Nana”/Grandmother. She will also be remembered as a welcoming, kind-hearted person looking for the best in people or a situation.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 24th, 2019 from 4-7PM at Becker Ritter Funeral Home and again on Thursday, July 25th, 2019 from 10AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church (12130 W. Center Street, Wauwatosa, WI 53222). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or the charity of your choice. The Hopp and Prudisch family are deeply grateful to the Oncology Staff at Froedtert Hospital, UW Carbone Cancer Center and Baylor Scott & White Health of TX for their very personal and compassionate care. Remember to smile, she would want you to remember the good times you shared with her.
