Charles "Chuck" J. Kustner, age 87, was born to Eternal Life on March 11, 2019. Loving husband of Martha (nee Penwell) for 64 years. Beloved father of Catherine Kustner, Thomas (Carmela) Kustner, and Anne (John) Haser. Grandfather of Lauren, Gabriela, Richard (Soledad), Natalie, Nathan, Edward, and Andrew Kustner, Isabelle Haser. Great-grandfather of Sayeh Kustner-Laboy. Chuck was born April 26, 1931 in Evanston, IL. After marrying his sweetheart Martie in 1954 and serving three years in the US Army, he graduated from the University of Illinois in 1957 before embarking on a 25+ year career with Cutler-Hammer. Together Chuck and Martie raised three children with their strong Catholic values. In December, 1975, he was ordained as a member of the first Permanent Deacon Ordination class for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. He served as a permanent deacon for four years at St. John Vianney Parish in Brookfield before serving over 38 years at St. Mary Visitation Parish in Elm Grove, having just retired earlier this month. After his career with Eaton/Cutler Hammer, Chuck started, joined, or advised a number of corporate ventures, which kept him involved in the business world. His optimism and outgoing personality suited his diverse business career.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 18 at St. Mary’s Visitation Parish in Elm Grove (1260 Church St.) beginning at 9:00am until 10:30am, Eulogy at 10:45am, and a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00am. A private interment will follow.
