Charles "Chuck" E. Rettig

May 23, 1921 ~ April 1, 2018 (age 96) 96 Years Old

Tribute

Of Menomonee Falls died peacefully on Sun., April 1, 2018, at the age of 96 years. He was born in Henderson, TX, the son of Charles and Mary Rettig. Chuck married the love of his life, Virginia Goodby, on Aug. 21, 1944. He was a proud World War II Naval Aviator. Chuck attended Texas Tech., Georgia Tech, and MIT; graduating with his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).

Chuck was a brilliant electrical engineer with multiple patents to his name. He was musically gifted; and enjoyed reading, music, gardening, travel, and the fine arts. Most of all, he was a loving and devoted husband and father.

Chuck is lovingly survived by his wife of 73 years, Virginia; children, Bruce W. (Mary Ellen) Rettig, the late Charles N. (Carol A.)Rettig, Marcia C. (Timothy) Carmichael, and Donald Wayne (Amie L.) Rettig; grandchildren, Bruce W. (Tracey S.) Rettig Jr., Stephen M. Rettig, and Karen Barriault; great-grandchildren, Sean H. Rettig, Amanda and Corey Barriault; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.

A visitation for the world’s finest dad will be held on Sun. April 8, 2018, from 1:00 PM until the time of the 2:30 PM Memorial Service at Peace United Methodist Church, 12860 W North Ave, Brookfield, WI 53005. Inurnment will be private at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
