Was called home to the Lord on October 14, 2021 at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Jane for 58 years. Loving dad of Kelly (Heather), Brandon (Tammera) and Erin. Adored grandpa of Tyler (Jessica) Kaitlyn, Jessalyn (Ethan) Urban, Justin, Ethan, Josiah, Caleb, Alek, Micah and Gabriel. Cherished great-grandpa of Kane. Dale will be dearly missed by other relatives, the members of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Waukesha and many friends.
Dale was born on May 26, 1939. He graduated from Glenbard High School in Lombard, IL in 1957 before his graduation from North Central College in 1961. Dale proudly served as a Lieutenant JG on a US Navy minesweeper from 1963 until 1966. After serving in the Navy Dale went on to earn his Masters of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary in 1969. He was honored to serve as a Pastor at churches in Fort Walton Beach FL, Holland MI, Metamora MI and in Brookfield WI. Dale was also the founder of the Covenant Home Curriculum which provided a challenging education with a reformed world view to families across the world.
Dale loved the water and could often be found fishing and sailing. He had a green thumb that he expertly applied to the landscaping of all his homes throughout the years. He was an avid reader who amassed an extensive library of books. He was a prolific writer and a lover of the Psalms. Dale will be greatly missed by his family, his church family and the many lives he touched throughout his life.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday October 20, 2021, at Becker Ritter Funeral Home, from 4 PM until 5:45PM. A Funeral Service will be held at 6 PM. Burial will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday November 16, 2021 at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Samaritan’s Purse would be greatly appreciated by the family.
