On Friday April 29th, David Ralph Nahin, loving Husband, Father, Brother, and Grampy passed away at the age of 73. Dave will be deeply missed by his wife Kathleen; Children Erika Kloiber (John Paul), Joshua Nahin (Melissa), and Katrina Zydowicz (Brendt); Grandchildren Ethan and Liam Robers, Jacob, Zachary, Luke, and CecIlia Kloiber; Brothers Michael and Jim Nahin; Sisters Barbara Rooney and Patricia Jordan. He was preceded in his death by his parents Ralph and Rita Nahin; Son Peter Nahin (Bilal),
The first born of Ralph and Rita, Dave was born on November 3rd, 1948 in Milwaukee. He was born and raised in Wauwatosa with his brothers, Mike and Jim, and sisters, Barb and Patty. Dave attended grade school at Christ King and went on to Marquette University High School, where he built friendships that lasted a lifetime. Dave earned his Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Chemistry from St Norbert’s. He went on to achieve his M.D from the Medical College of Wisconsin and did his internship and residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in Milwaukee, and became board-certified in Internal Medicine and Emergency. He practiced Emergency Medicine at a number of hospitals throughout the southeastern Wisconsin area. He spent his later professional years serving as a Medical Review Officer for numerous companies before retiring as Chief Medical Review officer at i3screen. In retirement, he maintained his medical licensure and offered advisement as needed, while also developing a passion for tutoring students at Christo Rey Jesuit High School.
Dave married the love of his life, Kathleen, on May 16th1975, and they had 4 children, whom he cared for dearly. Dave’s calming presence and witty sense of humor were a staple at gatherings with family and friends. He was a passionate Wisconsin sports fan, especially for his beloved Packers. As an animal lover, he was adored by the pets he cared for over the years. Dave loved adventure and road trips with his wife Kathleen, fishing in Canada with his brothers, playing cards with his lifelong friends, and spending vacation time Up North with his family. The knowledge and wisdom he shared with those he loved will be missed, but not forgotten.
A celebration of Dave’s life will be forthcoming in late summer.
Gathering at Christ King Catholic Church, 2604 N Swan Blvd, Milwaukee, WI on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 12PM-1PM. Mass of Christian Burial at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations appreciated to Cristo Rey Jesuit High School Milwaukee.
