David Merrill York

David Merrill York (b. August 17, 1970) died November 21, 2021 after several months of unexpected acute health troubles.

A graduate of Brookfield Academy and Vanderbilt University, David spent his career in the metals industry with Grede Foundries, Vickers Engineering, and most recently as partner in an independent metals representative firm.

Throughout his too short life, he was an active youth sports coach, marathon runner, water skier, golfer, and member of First Congregational Church of Wauwatosa. As a strong believer in the value of family, he was loyally devoted to his wife and five children.

David is survived by his parents Mary and Merrill York, spouse Deborah Nighbert York, children Maryanne, Katie, Madison, Charlie, and Rachel, and sisters Susan (Matt) Jeide and Carolyn (Rick) Nowacki, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

On Saturday, November 27, a visitation will be held from 10-noon at Becker Ritter Funeral Home, 14075 W North Avenue, Brookfield, WI 53005. A celebration of life service will follow at 2 pm at First Congregational Church of Wauwatosa, 1511 Church St. Wauwatosa, WI, 53213.
