Donald Claude Knigge

Of Wauwatosa and Brookfield was called home to the Lord, Thurs. May 3, 2018 at the age of 92.  Loving husband of Eloise (nee Kramp) for 62 years.  Devoted father of Jill (Tom) Ausloos and Brad (Jennifer) Knigge.  Loving grandfather of Michael, Jenna (fiancé Corey Lozano) and Matthew Ausloos, Rachel and Tyler Knigge.  Special step-grandfather to Alex (Katie) Kent and Mitchell (Brenna) Kent.  Proceeded in death by his parents, Claude and Ruth Knigge (nee Evilsizer) and brother, Bob.  Reunited in Heaven with son, Brian Donald. 

Don was born August 31, 1925 and grew up in Waukegan and Libertyville, Illinois.  He worked in design and architectural drafting until eventually settling in Milwaukee and starting what would turn out to be a lifelong career in Sales with Grinnell Corp.  As a member of the U.S. National Guard he proudly served his country. A devout Catholic, he was a faithful servant as a 58 year member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Elm Grove, Wisconsin.  The Kiwanis Golden K Club of Elm Grove provided him the opportunity to strengthen his community and improve the lives of others.

 Most will remember Don for his quick wit and love of a well-crafted joke.

The family would like to express deep gratitude for all the love and care given to Don and his family at The Congregational Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the funeral home from 11:00AM until time of 1:00 PM Funeral Service with a luncheon to follow.  Private interment at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
