Donald J. Meyer

Passed peacefully on Friday, February 8, 2019 at the age of 91. Devoted and loving husband of Marion, dad of Dana (Kevin) Gilboy, brother of Eleanor McKeown, and uncle of Sue Bartlein. Don is also survived by many other family members and friends.

Don was born in Duluth,MN and moved to Milwaukee as a young boy with his family. He attended Boy's Tech High School and worked at an auto garage where he gained his life-long love of working on cars of all kinds. 

He enlisted in the Air Force at 17 and trained as a night fighter pilot in California. Upon returning to Milwaukee, he finished his High School degree and then followed in his Dad 's path; working at Wisconsin Bell from where he retired after 39 years.

He married Marion Rusch in 1957. They moved to Brookfield in 1968 where their daughter Dana was born. Don and Marion were long time members of Christ the King Lutheran Church, serving in various roles for many years.

They also enjoyed many trips to Gillett to visit Marion's family, Florida vacations, golfing and sharing coffee and meals with friends.

Don also loved to fish and hunt pheasant in his younger days.

And as anyone who knew him could attest; he could fix ANYTHING!

He will be missed but he enjoyed a long and active life until the very end.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 22 from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Private Committal at Wisconsin Memorial Park.

Memorial donations in Don’s name may be made to the Wisconsin Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
