Dr. Dennis P. Dwyer

Dr. Dennis P. Dwyer of Brookfield, WI passed away at home Monday, January 16, 2023 surrounded by family. Loving husband to Mary Lynn; step-father to Taylor (Lindsay) Tachon and Tanya (Omar) Sandoval; grandfather to EvaLynn and Jace; brother to Thomas (Jane) Dwyer, Sharon (Richard) Staat, Kevin (Jane Storck) Dwyer and Robert (Mary) Dwyer; Brother-in-law to Susan Dwyer, Robyn Ringa, John (Joanne) Dunlavy, Michael Dunlavy, Patrick (Cindy) Dunlavy, Kathleen (Richard) Siddi, Jo Ann (Lonnie) Van Dusen, Jean (Don) King, and Beth (Mark) Hoppe; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and patients. He is predeceased by his parents and parents-in-law, wife Janet, brothers Michael and William, brother-in-law Robert Ringa and sisters-in-law Patty Dwyer and Debra Dunlavy.

Dennis was a proud graduate of Christ King Grade School; Pius XI High School where he placed 3rd at State in pole vaulting and coached after college; the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Oshkosh where he competed in pole vaulting and track; Marquette University School of Dentistry with whom he went on to do Missionary work in Haiti and teach in the School of Dentistry; a Fellowship of the Academy of General Dentistry; and innumerable dental continuing education certifications throughout the United States. Prior to becoming a dentist, Dennis was a Science Teacher and Coach at Carmel High School, Carmel, IL. He retired from his private dental practice of 44 years in Wauwatosa, WI in 2014. Over the years, his hobbies included racing a Formula 1 race car, skiing the Alps, pole vaulting, marathons, triathlons, yoga, reading, psychology, and traveling around the world. Dennis spent much of his retirement living in Nice, France where he was married, traveled, painted, studied French, and made many dear friends. He was a member of the American Dental Association, Wisconsin Dental Association, Greater Milwaukee Dental Association, and the American Club of the Riviera in France.

Visitation 10-11 and funeral mass 11-12 on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1260 Church St., Elm Grove; followed by a Burial at Highland Park Memorial Cemetery.
