Dr. John (Jack) Schoenecker of Elm Grove, passed away peacefully December 7, 2018 surrounded by family at the age of 94. Born in Milwaukee, May 12, 1924, to John and Elizabeth Schoenecker. The youngest, Jack had two brothers Kenneth and Robert. Jack married Marjorie (Bromberg) September 20, 1947. He graduated from Marquette dental school and served the U.S. Army. He had a private dental practice in Milwaukee.
He was an avid tennis player and founding member of the Elm Grove Tennis Club. You would find him regularly in the stands supporting his grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events, on long bike rides including one to Door County, or playing golf. Jack and Pat enjoyed traveling, especially Elderhostel destinations and with family at Miller’s Resort in Rhinelander, WI. Most of all he enjoyed “Basketball Sunday” an annual tradition where family and friends would gather and play full court basketball at the home of Pat and Jack. Jack was a member and served as an usher at St. Mary’s Parish in Elm Grove.
After retiring from dentistry at age 90, Jack pursued art, producing several paintings he shared with friends and family.
Jack is survived by his wife Marjorie, children John (Mary Ellen), David (Rebecca), Christine, Elizabeth (Wayne), Roberta (Mike), Mary Ellen (Mike), Martin (Julie), Laurie (John). Jack has 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 14 at St. Mary’s Visitation Parish (1260 Church St., Elm Grove 53122) from 10:30 until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Visitation Cemetery.
