Edward "Eddie B" Batayias

June 14, 1961 ~ November 11, 2020 (age 59) 59 Years Old

Tribute

Born to earthly life on June 14, 1961. The first son of the late Dr. George E Batayias, MD. The first son of Constance (Jeancake) Batayias. Husband of Tami (Bourn) Batayias, Father of Anargyros, and Anastacia. Brother to George Batayias and Nikki Batayias. Further survived by Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, Tami’s family, & Tom Kretlow & family.

Edward G Batayias II was unable to conquer his long, private battle with depression and entered eternal life on November 11, 2020 at the age of 59.

Edward grew up in the Elm Grove/Brookfield area, and attended Pilgrim Park Middle School and Brookfield Central High School.

Edward’s love of music started at an early age with pots, pans & wooden spoons. Eventually upgrading to Ludwig drums and Zildjian cymbals. Edward was a member of many bands performed with: Flanger, Tripper, The Flying V’s, Centerfold and the Zoo. Even though Edward never pursued music as a profession, he became well known in the Milwaukee music scene.

In the early days, Edward spent His weekends enjoying music, either performing or attending other friends’ shows. Encouraging his friends and speaking with everyone he met gave Edward an extensive knowledge of the music scene, nationally and locally. He would be the guy you want to be on your team when playing Rock ‘n Roll Jeopardy. He had an extensive knowledge of music trivia that was second to none.

Edward was famous for his multi-page handwritten journal of every concert he ever attended.

If you ever had a conversation with Edward you undoubtedly are familiar with his Edisms which included: “Ba-leeve!”, “What a cartoon!”, “Nikki, my boy!”, “Best Dump”, “REO Clankwagon”, for his children “No Mickey Mouse!”. Eddie B, had a language all his own!

Edward thoroughly enjoyed connecting with people, playing his favorite game of 120 questions and repeating your answers, as if to store them in his vast trivia bank of knowledge. As so eloquently said by some of his friends: Ed was the greatest rock fan, and brother, of all time.
