Tribute

Of Elm Grove, WI died December 26, 2021 after a hard fought battle resulting from a severe stroke in 2018.

Born in Csibrak, Hungary on January 25, 1931, the oldest of five brothers. He arrived in the United States on January 25, 1957 with his wife and 3 young children. He lived the American Dream, working hard and starting a Tailor shop, Hyde Park in Wauwatosa in 1960, where he worked alongside his brother until 2014, at which time his granddaughter assumed the business and continues on today.

Although he was well traveled, he always said his favorite vacations were those spent every summer in Northern WI with his young family. His first priority in life was always his family.

He will always be remembered not only as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, Opa, UrOpa and friend, but as the rock of our family and historian. He could instantly recall the dates of any event.

He was the best father to Roswitha (David), Juergen (Andrea) and Cornelia. Proud Opa of Calvin (Sara), Taylor (Meghan), Stephanie (Warren), Kirsten, Sydney (Peter), Elijah and Elisabeth. Loving UrOpa of Lucy, Oliver, Peter, Siena, Gus, Milo and Roy. Beloved brother of Stefan (Gerti), Josef (Hilde), Karl (Bonnie) and sister-in-law Martha.

Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends, his caregiver Viktoriya, who greatly enriched the quality of his life for the past 3 years, and more recent caregiver Peter.

He was preceded in death by Elisabeth, the love of his life and wife of 67 years, son Peter, brother Franz, niece Donna and great-nephew Josef.

Sincere gratitude to the services provided by everyone at Heartland Hospice for their kind and compassionate care, especially his nurses Ashley and Liz.

We will forever miss and love the Patriarch of our family.

A celebration of Erwin’s life is pending.
