Forrest was a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and lived his childhood in West Allis, WI. He graduated from UW – Milwaukee with a degree in History. At UWM, in track class, he met his wife Kathleen and they married in 1981. They soon moved to Greendale WI to raise their daughter Rebecca.
Forrest started at Wisconsin Electric Co. in September, 1976. He was a meter reader, then moved to Two Rivers to work in the Nuclear Power Plant. He moved on to become a Customer Service Representative at the Natural Gas Co.
Always fighting for the working man, Forrest was deeply passionate and active in Milwaukee’s labor movement. He went on to serve as a Business Representative at IBEW Local 2150 in April of 1998. He went on to be the Business Manager of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union, Local 2150 from April, 2009-August 2011.
With his retirement, Forrest pursued a lifelong dream of taking his Jeep to Arizona, where he could escape the cold Wisconsin winters and cheer on the Packers, with his loving wife, in their home in Green Valley AZ.
Forrest is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kathleen (Eckhardt), daughter Rebecca, brother Jamison and his stepmother, Sue. Forrest is preceded in death by his father Jerome and mother Dolores.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the memorials to the “Forrest Ceel Scholarship” would be appreciated. Donations can be sent to IBEW 2150, N56 W13777 Silver Spring Dr, Menomonee Falls, WI 53051.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 12th, at 4pm at the Becker Ritter Funeral Home, 14075 W North Ave, Brookfield, WI 53005, with a Visitation preceding from 12pm-4pm.
