Grant Timothy Richman

April 20, 2018

Tribute

Grant Timothy Richman, 21, of Madison formerly of Chilton and New Berlin, Wisconsin, dear son, brother, nephew, uncle, grandson, and friend, tragically passed away in the early morning of April 20, 2018.

Grant was born June 26, 1996, to Timothy and Margaret (Brandstetter) Richman. He graduated from Chilton High School in 2014, where he excelled in academics and athletics. He was expected to graduate from the University of Wisconsin – Madison this spring with a bachelor’s degree in biology, with plans to continue his education in the medical field. The past two years he worked at William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital, where he deeply loved and was beloved by his coworkers and patients. Grant was the acting president of Wisconsin Pre-Medical Society where he influenced others with his life-long leadership skills and passion for medicine. He further elevated his medical knowledge performing cancer research at the UW Carbone Cancer Center lab-work that he valued and took great pride in carrying out.

Grant was a special young man, who touched the lives of many with his deep generosity and kindness. He openly extended his hands to family, friends, his patients, and even strangers in need. He gathered friendships from all walks of life yet remained inseparable with his core pre-college and college friends. Grant’s love of the outdoors was at its peak while spending time with family and friends at his cherished family cabin on Plummer Lake in Lac du Flambeau.

Grant is survived by his parents, Timothy and Margaret Richman of Brookfield; sister Allison Richman; brothers Casey Kaiser (Cassandra) and Max Kaiser (girlfriend, Chelsea); niece Eva Kaiser; grandmother Nell Richman; uncles Tom Brandstetter and Dan Bitnec; aunts Kelly Richman and Shannon  Bitnec; and cousins Kate (Chris), Andy, Jack, Sydney, and Henry.
