Gretchen Nordin

Gretchen Nordin (nee Webster) of Elm Grove, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2021 at the age of 93. She was born on December 1, 1928 to Gladys (nee Volk) and Forrest Webster.  She was married to Dr. Paul Frederick Nordin for 53 years. 

Gretchen was a native of and lived most of her life in Wauwatosa.  She was a graduate of Wauwatosa High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and where she earned membership in Phi Beta Kappa. After her children were grown, she worked in the administration at Alverno College and was also a board member of the college. 

She is survived by her daughter Kristin (Thomas) Finney of Eden Prairie, MN, her daughter Patti (Jack) Rooney of Mequon and by her son David Nordin of Brookfield.  She is further survived by her five grandchildren: Sophie Finney, Andrew (Lorraine) Rooney, Elizabeth Rooney, Stephen (Allison) Rooney and Michael Rooney (fiancée Marisa Weich) and by two great-grandchildren, Olivia Rooney and Walter Rooney.  She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Paul Nordin and her sister Shirley (Fred) Koenitzer. 

The family is grateful to the wonderful staff at Congregational Home and Legacy Hospice.  Private family services were held.
