Tribute

Age 86, of Wauwatosa, born into Eternal Life on Saturday May 12, 2018 at his residence.  Born in Ladysmith, Wisconsin June 30th, 1931, he was the son of Henry and Caroline Kurz, brother of Mary Ann Kurz.  Henry graduated as a Marshfield Tiger in 1949 and continued his education at Marquette graduating with a BS in Accounting in 1953. 

After graduation he joined the U.S. Navy, attended Officer Candidate School and was commissioned in the Naval Reserve.  He was assigned to Naval Supply Corps and trained in Athens Georgia in 1954.  He attained the rank of LT (jg) and was stationed on the destroyer USS Hanson in the Sea of Japan during the tail end of the Korean War.  

Henry married the love of his life, Mary W. Doyle in 1962 and together they raised six boys.  He always liked spending time with his family and friends.  He coached all of his boys in baseball, his most beloved sport.

Henry was deeply devoted to his Catholic Faith and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus for over 40 years.  He served as Grand Knight of the Pere Marquette KC Council 524 from 1977 – 1978.    

Henry enjoyed his work in business and finance.  He had a long career at Inland Diesel as Financial VP before purchasing Precision Service & Parts in 1982.  The family business prospered providing for his family until its sale in 2017.

He will be dearly missed by his sons: Henry (Bonnie), Philip (Misao), Peter (Lori), Fr. Andrew, Joseph (Cecilia), Thomas (Jessica); grandchildren: Katie (Ricardo), Julia, Melissa, Noah, Peter, Christina, Natalia, Samuel, Thomas Henry, Elise, Raphael; great grandchild: Joey (Ricardo) and expected grandchild along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.  Henry joins his wife Mary of 55 years (DECD: Dec. 29, 2017) along with his parents Henry & Caroline, his sister Mary Ann and grandson Joshua Kurz.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with a rosary prayer service to begin at 4:00 P.M.

A second visitation will be held on Monday, 21st from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Visitation Parish, 1260 Church St., Elm Grove, with Fr. Andrew Kurz and Fr. Peter Berger, presiding. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Visitation Cemetery.
