Howard Charles Gerard

Passed away peacefully on May 26, 2021, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 70. Loving husband of Susan for 50 wonderful years. Devoted dad of Michelle (Ryan) Mangan and Nicole (Nikolaus) Wolf. Adored grandpa of Kaitlin, Hailey, Aubry, Hudson and Ian. Beloved son of Howard Sr. and Doris. Howard will be greatly missed by his sisters, brothers, other relatives and many friends.

Howard spent his youth in Milwaukee and attended both Pius XI and Juneau High Schools. He was self-taught and quickly mastered the skills of engineering and manufacturing. His ambition and hard work, along with his wife Susan, built their business Associated Erecting Inc. that they successfully ran together for 45 years until his retirement in 2018. Howard was an innovator and could solve any problem on the spot. He could single handedly build and install overhead cranes in no time. Thus, he was also heavily recruited by his daughters to fix everything, and he did. Howard was a 32nd degree Mason, enjoyed long rides on his Harley and indulged himself in beating his friends at Sheepshead during card club for the past 40 years. Many know Howard had a sweet tooth. He made amazing milkshakes and would indulge in a bowl of assorted desserts every night around 8:00 p.m. He went on more trips to Disney World than he would like to admit, but being the unselfish person he was, he loved seeing his family and grandchildren laughing and enjoying time together. During retirement, Howard spent most of his time with his feet in sugar white sand, tanning, and enjoying the Gulf view. He provided unconditional love, support and commitment to his family and friends.  No words will describe how much he will be missed. The love he filled us with will continue to fill our hearts, and the memories we built together will forever be part of us.

A gathering to begin at 11 AM on Sunday June 6, 2021 followed by a memorial service at 1 PM.
