Howard C. Gerard, Sr.

November 30, 1925 ~ May 4, 2023 (age 97) 97 Years Old

Tribute

Born to eternal life on May 4, 2023 at the age of 97. Reunited with his beloved wife of 72 years, Doris. Preceded in death by his parents Julius and Frances Gerard and his beloved son Howard (Susan) Gerard Jr. Also preceded in death by his brothers Paul (Evelyn) Gerard Sr., Albert (Jan) Gerard and sister Mary.

Howard was an Army Veteran and served for over 2 years under General Patton in WWII. After he came home, he was employed by Wisconsin Electric Power Co. He worked there as a lineman and then foreman for 41 years before he retired in 1987.

Dad enjoyed nothing more than spending the day fishing on the Madison chain of lakes, which he did almost weekly for many years. You could be sure our boat almost always had the most success since he was an exquisite fisherman. He also always looked forward to his annual trips to Canada with so many of his fishing buddies.

His stature was big and his importance to our Family was just as big.

Howard is survived by his children Patricia Weber, Greg (Magdalena) Gerard, Julie (James) Beranek, James (Nicole) Gerard, Jane Gerard and his sister Genevieve. Howard will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023 11AM at St. Vincent Pallotti Church, 201 N.76th Street in Milwaukee. Following the Service, Friends and Family are invited to join us for lunch at the Wisconsin Club Country Club: 6200 W. Good Hope Rd. Milwaukee, Wi. 53223.
