James "Jim" D. Hoffmann

Of Menomonee Falls passed peacefully on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the age of 84 years. He was born in Milwaukee, the son of Jacob and Anne (nee Rietz) Hoffmann. Jim attended Boy’s Tech High School and was a proud United States Army Veteran.  On January 24, 1959, Jim married the love of his life, Patricia M. Sagert. Moving from Milwaukee to Menomonee Falls in 1964, they have been members of St. Anthony Catholic Church since that time.

Jim was an Operating Engineer, operating a Gradall and excavating for the past 65 years. He starting his own business of Hoffmann Gradall for 20 years and worked for Snorek Construction for the past 30 years. Many of the pools in the Elm Grove area were dug by him.

Jim was a Life Member of the Waukesha Gun Club, He has been Trap Shooting for the past 60 years a love he passed down to his son. Jim was an avid deer and duck hunter, the yearly trips up north for the chance to hunt with family and friends and win at Sheep’s Head was always a great time. He was an animal lover also, Golden Retrievers were the dogs he always had.

Jim will be sadly missed by his wife Patricia of 60 years. His children, Deborah (David Levy) Hoffmann and Richard Hoffmann; granddaughter Julia Hoffmann; siblings, Rudy (Carlin) Hoffmann, Mary Hellenthal and Rose Raiter. He is further survived by a daughter-in-law, Cynthia Hoffman, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 7, from 11:00 AM until the time of the 12:30 PM Memorial Service, at the Funeral Home. Inurnment will be private at a later date.
