James "Jim" R. Ibach

Ibach, James R. (“Jim”) of Brookfield, WI passed away peacefully February 15, 2020 at the age of 71 after a 5 year battle with cancer. Loving husband of Jerilyn Ibach (nee Asti). Caring father of Suzanne (John) Eggers and James (Anne) Ibach. Proud grandfather of Elise, Adeline, James, Arthur and Wilhelmina. Jim will be dearly missed by his siblings, Tom (the late Jeanne), Margie, Bill (Marilyn) and John. Jim is preceded in death by his parents William and Margaret and sister Carol. Further survived by many nephews, nieces and friends.

Jim grew up in Wauwatosa and attended Wauwatosa East High School. He then went to the University of Wisconsin Madison where he met his wife of 47 years. After completing his undergraduate studies, Jim earned master’s degrees from both the University of Wisconsin Madison and Marquette University. Jim worked as a civil engineer for the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewage District before founding his own consulting practice.

Jim was an avid long-distance runner, who enjoyed competing in half marathons (often winning his age group). He loved playing golf with family and friends and could often be found among friends playing Sheepshead or Cribbage. He was a lifelong baseball fan and classic car enthusiast. Jim often showcased his tremendous sense of humor and wit over beers and pizza. Some of his most cherished times were spent with family and friends on Kangaroo Lake in Door County. He will be deeply missed by all those around him.

Visitation will be at St. Dominic’s Catholic Parish (18255 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI) from 10am-12pm Saturday, February 22nd. A memorial mass will follow at 12pm.
