(nee Smith) Age 94, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2021 with her loving family by her side.  She is now reunited in Heaven with the love of her life, her Husband of 50 years, Robert J. LaPierre, who she lovingly called Roberto.

Jean was born November 27, 1926 in Wooster, Ohio while her family was visiting her grandparents in Smithville, Ohio over Thanksgiving. The daughter of the late Rev. Samuel W. Smith and Gail Kiefer Smith. She was raised in East Cleveland, Ohio and attended Wooster College. She and her husband began their married life together in Cleveland, OH before moving to Mundelein, IL then Appleton, WI and for the last 37 years in Elm Grove, WI.

During her family’s time in Appleton, Jean was a long time employee and a favorite of customers at the H.C. Prange Company Department Store where she managed the Cosmetics and Fragrances Department.

Spending time with her family was the most important thing to her. She loved nothing better than family gatherings at her home in Elm Grove or on her patio where she enjoyed sipping a cocktail on her patio swing. Jean was known for her sweet, kind and funny personality as well as her love of music and classic films. She will be forever missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Jean was a long time member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 449 in Brookfield, WI
