Joan Margaret (Gorman) Brennan

January 4, 1928 ~ January 24, 2024 (age 96) 96 Years Old

Joan Margaret (Gorman) Brennan peacefully entered into eternal life on Wednesday 1/24/24. Joan has been joyously reunited in Heaven with her adoring husband (Dr. John J. Brennan), her fine father (Lieutenant Eugene Gorman), her marvelous mother (Marie (Camp) Gorman), her beloved brother (Eugene Gorman), her sweet sister (Marie Dale (Gorman) Zubek and her esteemed son (Joseph). Joan will be dearly missed by her 11 cherished children: Michael (Anna DiSalvo), Patrick (Margaret O'Connor), Jean (Paul Beggan), Jan (Jeff Kaufman), Dolly (David Nelson), Timothy (Julia Fox), Sarah (John Mullarkey), Mary (Dan Druml), Brigid (Pat Brennan), Kathleen and John; her 33 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, niece, nephews, relatives and friends.

Joan was born on 1/4/1928 in Cleveland, OH, where her father served as a Lieutenant in the Cleveland Police Department. Joan attended Saint Catherine Of Alexandria Elementary School, Notre Dame High School and Saint John's College School of Nursing. As a skilled surgical nurse, she earned an internship at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Milwaukee, WI, where she met her gallant groom, who was doing a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Because Joan's internship was 6 months, her believing beau asked if he could return to Cleveland with her to meet her parents, and after 6 months and with her parents' approval, her sured suitor proposed marriage to her! John and Joan married on 10/13/1951 in Cleveland, OH and returned to Milwaukee, WI to embark on their 63 years of marriage.

After raising 11 children, Joan was employed at T.A. Chapmans Department Store in their Customer Service Department, where she attended to customer's concerns, compliments and complaints with her dignified and diplomatic demeanor. Following her rewarding career in retail, she was appointed the position as the Director of The Ronald McDonald House in Wauwatosa, WI (a.k.a., RMHC EASTERN WI).

Joan was a gifted golfer, brilliant at bridge, slick at scrabble, knowledgeable at Jeopardy, a wiz at Wheel of Fortune and she enjoyed classic films and music. "The Beauty from Cleveland" was, also, a faithful fan of Marquette University Basketball, The Green Bay Packers, The Milwaukee Brewers and The Milwaukee Bucks. She was a gracious and grand hostess with a genuine generosity, a loyal and loving wife, a magnificent mother, a caring grandmother and great grandmother, a devoted daughter, a considerate sister and sister-in-law, a benevolent nurse, an accomplished professional and a favored and forever friend!

People considered it a profound privilege and pleasure to be in Joan's precious presence. Joan will be remembered by her immense and immeasurable grace, grit and gratitude, rare and remarkable resilience , resourcefulness and resolve, selfless service, reverence for her faith, family and friends, divine determination and devotion to duty and her endearing and enduring path of passion, principles, purpose and perseverance, which made her a tender, true and treasured beautiful being!

As expected...Joan was called to Heaven on The Feast Day of Saint Francis of Assisi. Joan embodied The Prayer Of Saint Francis of Assisi.
