John Raymond Dunn aka (“Beepa” “Lolo” “Grandpa” “Grandpa Brown” or “Bucko”) was born to eternal life on May 15, 2021 at 86 years young.  He was born on the 8th of September in 1934. He is preceded in death by his loving mother Dorothy,(nee Scherkenbach) and father James and brother James.  He attended St. Boniface Grade School and Marquette University High School. He graduated from Marquette University in 1959.

He married the love of his life,  Margot (nee Andis) on August 11, 1959.

John served his country in the US Army and US Army reserves.

He started his career working for a short time at Marquette University, and then became an investment advisor at Loewi and Company, remaining with the same company for 40 plus years through various name changes. He was highly respected at the firm, in his industry, and among his clients.

John was a larger than life man who lit up every room he entered. His love of life, family and God was present in all he did. He loved gathering with family and friends, and was often the life of the party. John had a passion for travel with friends and  family. He often planned trips for his entire family, carving out time for his children and grandchildren to celebrate with him and Margot.

No rain, sleet or snow could keep him from any type of event his children or grandchildren had. His enthusiasm for attending Marquette basketball games was known by all who sat anywhere near his section. A large pillar in the community, John was involved in multiple charitable organizations giving of his time, talent and treasure.

He will be greatly missed by his dedicated and adoring wife Margot (nee Andis) of nearly 62 years, his children Jim (Sherri), John (Margie), Anne (David) Pagel, Chris (Bridget), Mary (Alvaro) Garcia-Velez, and Daniel (Amy). His 19 grandchildren, Jack, Haley, Megan, Ellie, Margot, Sid, Grace, Madeline, David, George, Finn, John, Margot, Sofi, Andy, Cecilia, Daniel, Mary and Kate all loved him so dearly. They will lovingly think of him each time they play gin rummy and call on Woofda. He will also be well-remembered by his brother-in-law, Matt, his wife Rita, their children and many, many dear friends.
