John D. Heider

Of Wauwatosa – Age 95, was born to Eternal Life on April 23, 2021. Beloved husband of Mary T. Heider. Cherished father of Virginia (Kenneth) Etzel, J. Karl Heider and Mary Jo Halaska. Loving grandfather of Dr. Andrew (Jamie) Etzel, the late Matthew Etzel (POI USN), Nicholas (Natasha) Etzel, Stephanie (Abel Nunez) Halaska, Elise (Adam) Stalker, Morgan (Aaron Shaffer) Halaska, Felicity Halaska, the late Kaitlin Mary Halaska, Mitchell Heider and Megan Heider. Proud great-grandfather of Avery Etzel, Alexis Etzel and Clark Stephen Stalker. 

John was born on December 16, 1925 in Blue Island, Illinois to John and Eleanor Heider. During World War II, he served in the Navy Air Corps as a member of a Patrol Bombing Squad over the North Atlantic. 

He attended Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa from 1946-1947. Married Mary T. Solick on October 25, 1947. He was the founder and CEO of Pic Wire and Cable Co., Inc. 

A man of deep faith, he was preceded in death by his cherished wife Mary (nee Solick) Heider. 

Further survived by other dear relatives and very close friends. 

A visitation will be held on Monday May 10, 2021, at the funeral home, from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Visitation Parish, 1260 Church St, Elm Grove, WI 53122 at 11 AM. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Visitation Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Salvation Army of Wisconsin would be greatly appreciated.
