John Paul Tiefenthaler

John Paul Tiefenthaler, age 73, of Brookfield, Wisconsin was born into eternal life on September 6th at home while Patti, his wife of 51 years, was at his side.

John was a trailblazer to his sons Andrew (Samantha Del Toro), Derek (Kate Rechner), and Ryan (Katie Bruni); a beloved Grandpa to his nine grandchildren – Sofia, William, Sarah, Susan, Rowan, Luke, Audrey, Lizzy, and Isla; and a loving brother to Tim (Kathy) and Gayle (Brad) Gerhart. He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Evelyn Tiefenthaler and parents-in-law Howard and Dolores Fredricks.

John was a Navy Reservist before earning his law degree from Marquette Law School in 1976. He spent 38 years of his career as an educator, teaching real estate licensing law and continuing education classes at Shorewest Realtors and WCTC. John loved spending time in God’s creation as an endurance athlete hiking, biking, and running. He completed five Ice Age 50-mile runs and numerous marathons and century bike rides. He used his passion for endurance sports to raise funds for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin as the Race Director for Al’s Run (1990-1993). He will be remembered as a compassionate family man and teacher with a strong sense of humor and an endearing, child-like sense of wonder.

Gathering at the Funeral Home on Thursday, September 15th from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM. A memorial service for John will begin at 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Waukesha County Parkland Conservation Fund.
