Born to Eternal Life on October 23, 2018 at the age of 80. Cherished husband of Barbara. Loving father of Brenda (Roberto), Steven (Mary Jo), Daniel (Lisa), Maria, Valina, and the late Victor. Loving grandpa of Carly, Brendan, and Lauren. Also survived by his sister Elia Kotnik, sister-in-laws Virginia, Dolly, and Wanda, Brother-in-law David Schoolcraft, and special nephews Joshua Schoolcraft and Joseph Koskovich. Preceded in death by his brothers Emery, Roger, and Jesse. He will be missed by many family members and friends.
Joe grew up in the Walker’s Point area of Milwaukee, where he worked at his parent’s neighborhood grocery store. He attended Notre Dame High School where he was class president and played on the offensive line of the football team. He graduated in 1956 and has remained both active in the alumni association and a close friend to his classmates. Joe was involved in the computer programming revolution early on at Harnischfeger Corporation and eventually owned his own data processing business, Data Annex. He was a lifelong Packers fan even before the years of Vince Lombardi. Joe was a gregarious and generous person who always looked on the positive side of life and made everyone laugh with his warm sense of humor. He enjoyed time with his family most of all and taught his children to never say a bad thing about anyone, but always have a good thing to say about everyone.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, October 29, 2018 from 4PM until the Time of Sharing at 6:15PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Visitation Parish (1260 Church St. Elm Grove 53122) on Tuesday, October 30 at 10:30AM. Committal prayers to follow.
