Jude Martin Werra

Died November 28, 2023. Born in Waukesha, WI July 15, 1942, to Harriet L. (nee Kroner) Werra and Julius W. Werra. Raised in Wauwatosa, WI, alumnus of Christ King School, Marquette University High School, Loras College, and Marquette University.

Survived by his loving bride, Eleanor “Nora” Finnigan Werra, daughter Julie (Steve) Schultz of Neshkoro, WI, son William (Cheryl) Werra of Sussex, WI, grandchildren Stephanie (Mark) Hampton, Nicholas (Kassie) Grassel, Alexandra Werra, and Zachary Werra.  Great-grandchildren Julia, Holly, Erin, and Maria Hampton.

Further survived by his brother Conrad Werra, sister-in-law Yvonne Werra and brothers-in-law James Fridl and Russell Foster. Preceded in death by his siblings Lucille Foster, Harriet Fridl, John Werra, and sister-in-law Gretchen Werra. He will be mourned by many other relatives, professional colleagues, and friends.

Designated as a Certified Management Consultant, his corporate career included roles with Marshall Field & Co., Manpower, Inc., Badger Meter, Inc. and American Motors Corporation. His consulting career spanned a variety of disciplines, chief among them was his practice in Executive Search and Selection, including founding Jude M. Werra & Associates which was honored as one of the "100 Leading Management Consulting Firms in North America".

Jude was a speaker and author on topics related to management consulting and participated in exchange missions exploring HR practices in China, Japan, Belarus and Russia, also maintaining professional affiliations which assisted clients in Latin America and Europe. His CLARITY series of essays and his Liars Index reported the percentage of resumes with misrepresented education credentials. Over decades he extended career advice to a legion of people at crossroads of their careers, paying forward the aid he had received from others as he progressed in his own journey.

Recognizing the importance of lifelong learning, he was active in various professional, civic, academic, community, educational and philanthropic activities serving many of them in leadership roles.

Visitation at Becker Ritter Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, from 4 to 6PM. Additional visitation at Church of the Gesu, 1145 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53233, Wednesday, December 13, from 9:00-9:45AM with eulogies at 9:45AM. Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM. (Gesu parking is available in Lot J or Lot D). Reception to follow at Woman's Club of Wisconsin, 813 E Kilbourn Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53202, valet parking will be available. Private burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to Marquette University, Marquette University High School, or Mount Mary University.
