Kathleen "Kathy" Neuberger

August 1, 1949 ~ November 26, 2022 (age 73) 73 Years Old

Tribute

Kathy Neuberger (née DeGrace) was given the gift of life on August 1, 1949, and after 73 years filled with joy, love, and compassion; she returned that gift on November 26, 2022. She was born to parents George and Evelyn DeGrace (née Fruth).

Kathy is survived by her adoring husband of 48 years, John Neuberger, and the two daughters to whom she was forever devoted, Amy (Nick) Burris and Anne (Andreas) Mueller; as well as grandchildren Donovan, Isabelle, Isla, and Elin.

After graduating from Mount Mary with a degree in Art History, she established an estate sale company, Treasure Traders, which she owned and ran in the Greater Milwaukee area for over 20 years. In addition to her passion for art and antiques, Kathy’s other special love was producing the Milwaukee Holiday Parade, which had been a DeGrace family tradition for 65 years until they retired in 2018.

Kathy cherished her friendships and was a dedicated member of her neighborhood bridge club with her closest friends for over 40 years. Her gift giving was well-known amongst family and friends. With elaborate bows and wrappings, she loved sending a thoughtful handwritten letter and was delighted in the thought of throwing parties, with games and prizes for those who attended.

She also loved to travel. Together with John, she took many trips within the US and around the world. Over the last few years, you could find her cheering on her grandchildren at their sports games and dance recitals, as well as supporting her beloved Wisconsin sports teams: the Packers, Brewers, and Bucks.

In addition to her husband, children, and grandchildren, Kathy is also lovingly survived by her siblings Suzanne (Jim) Spaeth and Daniel DeGrace, as well as many extended family and friends. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, George and Evelyn; sisters Mary Therese and Margaret “Peggy”; brothers John and David.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Cancer Center at Froedtert for their continued support and care of Kathy for the past 10 years.
