Larry L. Reiton

Larry L. Reiton of Milwaukee, passed peacefully into Eternal Life on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 in Wauwatosa at the age of 73.

Dearest friend to Margaret Wiemer and her children Anne Marie (Marty) Pierce, Larry (Shari) Wiemer and Charles (Lara) Wiemer. Loving uncle of Derrick (Rachael) Reiton of Winthrop, MA, Angela (Matthew) Timm of Orinda, CA, Brenda (William) Schelman of Carmel, IN and Brian (Rachael) Reiton of Winlock, WA. Treasured great uncle of Hannah, Michael, Danielle, Colin, Kiersten, Ryan and Elise. Beloved brother-in-law of Barbara Reiton and dear cousin of Bruce (Chris) Gintoft, as well as, Bruce's family Bryan (Kate) Gintoft  of San Jose, CA; Andrew (Heather) Gintoft of Dodgeville, WI ; and Gregory (Becca) Gintoft of Lemoore, CA; and dear cousin Robert (Margaret) Gintoft, as well as, Robert's family, Bryce (Blair) Gintoft of Chicago; Jeremy Gintoft of San Diego; Melissa (Eric) Halleen of Milwaukee; god daughter, Mia (Brian) Cohen of New York; and Ryan (Amanda) Gintoft of Wauwatosa. Also left to cherish Larry's memory are many other relatives, neighbors, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Mary Reiton, his brother, Gary Reiton, and his aunt and godmother, Ethel Gintoft.

Larry was born in Glendale, CA on May 28, 1945. He attended Marquette University High School, graduated from Marquette University and spent a year abroad in Rome through Loyola University. He received his Masters in child psychology at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He served as a school psychologist for Milwaukee Public Schools and thoroughly enjoyed his career until his retirement in 2002. Larry was devoted to his family and friends. He enjoyed traveling the world, summer trips to northern Wisconsin, reading, cooking, the arts and decades of family gatherings at the Gintofts. Larry will be fondly remembered by all for his strong personality, his booming laugh, his love for tradition and his depth of knowledge. He will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 28, 2019 from 10:00 am to 11:45 am at St. Sebastian Catholic Parish, 5400 W. Washington Blvd, Milwaukee, WI 53208. Mass will be held at noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Wisconsin Humane Society, St. Joseph’s Indian School in Chamberlain, SD, and St. Sebastian School Foundation.
