Pamela (Perlick) Bergum

February 23, 1947 ~ October 10, 2021 (age 74) 74 Years Old

Tribute

Pamela Perlick Bergum went home to God on Oct. 10, 2021. Age 74. Survived by her husband of 52 years, Steven Bergum. Also survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Alison Bergum and daughter Laurie Bergum Navarro. Further survived by six grandchildren, Simon and Rona Bergum, Emilia, Simona, Anaka and Aniceto Navarro.

Pam was the beloved older sister of Gail Perlick. She was the much-loved sister-in-law to Gail’s husband, Larry Molinari, and to Robert and Cheryl Bergum and Paul and Barbara Bergum.  She is also survived by her mother-in-law Thelma Hurd, nine cousins and many close friends.

Pam was born on Feb. 23, 1947 to Robert and Eugenia Perlick in Milwaukee, the oldest of two daughters. She was a 1965 graduate of Brookfield Central High School. She then graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1969 where she majored in speech therapy. That’s where she met Steve. They married in June, 1969.

Pam was a practicing speech pathologist with a master’s degree from Marquette University. She started her work in the Milwaukee Public Schools. She then spent 35 years at the Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, now HEAR Wisconsin, where she worked to help hard-of-hearing adults improve their communication. Those who knew Pam know that she was all about communication and she was dedicated to teaching old adults how to better communicate.

She and Steve lived in Milwaukee, Wauwatosa and Elm Grove as they raised their family. They retired to a home on Nagawicka Lake, where they enjoyed time with their children, grandchildren, extended family, and many friends. Pam enjoyed sailing, skiing and going to Badger games. Pam was a lifetime member of Nagawicka Yacht Club, Ausblick Ski Club, Chenequa Country Club and former member of Western Racquet Club. She lived life to the fullest and we will miss her love of adventure, wonderful sense of humor, and generous spirit.

She was a long-time member of the Wauwatosa Congregational Church. She is a current member of the Delafield Presbyterian Church.

A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 5 at Delafield Presbyterian Church, 1851 N. Genesee St., Delafield. Pam’s Funeral Service will be held from 10:30 am until 11:30 am.
