Paula M. Salkin

Tribute

On Wednesday, June 30, 2021, Paula Mary Salkin (Biedlingmaier) passed away in Brookfield, Wisconsin at the age of 65 after a long battle with cancer.

Paula was born in Newport, Rhode Island to Gerard and Mary (Endler) Biedlingmaier. She went to high school at Divine Savior Holy Angels in Milwaukee and graduated with multiple degrees from the University of Marquette and the University of Wisconsin. Paula went on to have a long career in nursing until her recent retirement.

Paula was a woman of many talents and passions: world traveler, music fanatic, town historian, master-of-the-kitchen, animal empath, loving daughter, Summerfest regular, Girl Scout leader, Packers fan, doting mother, gardening wiz, ‘90s sitcom lover, embarrassing dancer (according to her kids), outdoor enthusiast, grammar sensei, eternal rebel and nurse extraordinaire. But more than anything, Paula was loved for her quick wit, extreme intelligence, and tough-as-nails attitude with any obstacle that came her way.

Paula was preceded in death by her father, Gerard, and her brother, Robert. She is survived by her two children, Katelyn and Michael (Kyara), her mother, Mary, and her three brothers, Mark (Stephanie), Tom (Jane) and Roy.

There will be a small gathering to celebrate Paula’s life on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 in Brookfield Wisconsin. Please contact family members for more information. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Paula’s memory to the Elmbrook Humane Society.
