Of Brookfield died peacefully on Mon. Oct. 23, 2017 at the age of 92. He married the love of his life Charlotte “Peg” (nee Reichart) in June of 1949. Dick graduated from Lehigh University as an Electrical Engineer. He worked most of his life at Allis Chambers in WI. Dick was a proud United States Army Veteran. He was an avid outdoorsman and completed the Appalachian Trail by the age of 79.

Dick will be sadly missed by his wife, Peg of 68 years; son, Dr. Philip (Beth) Sharpless; granddaughters, Alison and Katherine Sharpless. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dick was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Louise Borger.

A visitation for Dick will be held on Sat. Oct.  28, 2017 from 10 AM until the time of the 12 Noon Memorial Service at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Appalachian Trail Conservancy in Dick’s name at info@appalachiantrail.org; or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. A private burial will take place at a later date.
