Unexpectedly reunited with her heavenly Father and family on Sunday January 17, 2021. Loving mom of Becky (Bryan) Peterson. Cherished grandma of David and Elliot Peterson. Devoted sister in law of Mary Schreck. Much loved Aunt of Diana (Wylie) Messer and great aunt of Zetta Messer. Sister of Gilbert Schreck (the late Polly) and beloved cousin to many, especially her dear cousin Pat.  She will be dearly missed by family, friends, and her kitty Bruno. Preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Corinne Schreck and her devoted brother Roger Schreck.

Throughout her life Rita served as a loyal Milwaukee County employee and Bethesda volunteer, an avid lover of animals, and was always looking for a great bargain.  An excellent cook who loved to welcome others into her life and was always the life of the party so long as she had her iced mocha beforehand.  Most importantly, she was an excellent mother who loved her family fiercely, especially her grandkids.  She gave her time and devotion freely without an expectation and was unaware of the positive differences she made in the lives of those she touched.  Mom left too soon and will be missed greatly. 

Gathering at the Becker Ritter Funeral Home on Monday May 10, 2021 6-730PM. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on May 11, 2021 at 10AM at ST LEONARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, W173S7743 Westwood Drive, Muskego, WI 53150. In lieu of flowers please consider memorials to the Wisconsin Humane Society.
