Longtime resident of Elm Grove. Died peacefully January 22, 2020 at the age of 89 years.
The only child of Ruby and George Burrington, he was born on April 17, 1930 in Summit, Wisconsin. A Class of 1948 graduate of Wauwatosa High School, he attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. Following college he had a long and remarkable career in sales and marketing in the Milwaukee printing industry serving as Executive Vice President of Arandell-Schmidt Corporation (1968-1988), Senior Vice President at Moebius Printing Company (1988-1991) and finished his career in 1996 as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing with the Perry Printing Corporation now Northstar Print Group. He served on the Board of Trustees with the Milwaukee Art Museum and also on the Board of Directors of the Graphic Arts Advertising Guild of Milwaukee. An avid tennis player, Bob served in many volunteer roles with the United States Tennis Association and Davis Cup Boards.
Beloved husband of 60 years of Patricia Bayles Burrington, who preceded him in death in 2014. Devoted father of Barbara B. Oppenheimer and William W. Burrington. Adoring grandfather and grandfather-in-law of Justin R. (Meghan) Oppenheimer and Andrew W. (Sheila) Oppenheimer. Father-in-law of Donald R. Oppenheimer. Loving great grandfather of Emery, Tucker and Theo Oppenheimer. Partner of Emmy Theisen. Also survived by other relatives and long-time friends.
Memorial service Friday, February 28, 2020 at 10am at the Community United Methodist Church, 14700 Watertown Plank Road, Elm Grove. Private family burial at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
