For 10 years, he challenged students at MSOE in his Creative Thinking course. Bob enjoyed coaching his son’s soccer teams, and doing many DIY home projects. For many years, he was involved in Brookfield Fire Buffs, which provided supportive assistance to local fire departments. Through his Kiwanis affiliation, he delighted in an advisory role to the Brookfield Central Key Club. He and Ellie liked camping, train travel, and river cruises worldwide. He had a love of Dixieland Jazz music and played the banjo and harmonica.
